The group of six hearty scouts and three adults spent the first night at Camp Coker.  The evening was cloudless and star-studded with a chill in the air.  Saturday morning dawned cloudy and the weather deteriorated as the day passed.  By early afternoon, there was a light rain and a bone-chilling wind.  After an 8.5-mile hike, the group arrived at Griggs's Pond next to Camp Sandhills.  The decision was made to end the expedition at Grigg's Pond due to the poor forecast for the evening and next day.
